Job Summary:
You will be part of a "Top Notch" Development Team of approx. 10-20 total resources working on Multiple Projects. These Projects will impact: Product Development, SharePoint, Web Development, and Mobile Applications.
The Mobility Systems Architect is responsible for end-to-end high level technology architecture for projects in the Commercial Mobility space.
Maintains a working knowledge of Mobility Architecture, Standards and Practices.
Consistently applies this knowledge in day to day practice. Supports the delivery of mobility projects for Commercial IT organizations and provides consultation for impact to business and application portfolios; ensures alignment to business teams infrastructure architectural standards and strategy.
Architect ensures that the IT architectural standards and practices are followed through project and program involvement.
Ensures that architectures are flexible and support the business needs by maintaining an understanding of business strategies and infrastructure capabilities. Provides solutions to business problems and works directly with senior business leadership toward those goals.
Work will range from conceptual and strategic to tactical and includes integrating current architectures and initiatives as well as initiating and overseeing the deployment of new information technology architecture projects. Provides consultation for broad areas of technology.
Essential Functions:
1) Architecture
Defines and creates standards, guidelines, and quality of service
criteria for enabling and implementing architected hardware and software
systems.
Ensures recommended architecture supports rapid application
development and deployment, taking into account the differing evolution
cycles of the applications being deployed.
Creates and reviews architecture models for business processes and
services related to mobility competencies
Leads technical performance assessment of systems, applications and
databases
Demonstrated track record with architecting enterprise system
architectures with experience in interactive/prototype development
methodologies
2) Communication
Superior communication skills with the ability to present technical
topics to both "C-Level" clients as well as non-technical audiences and
build partnerships
Demonstrated commitment to continuous personal improvement of business
and technical skills, including the ability to learn and apply new
technologies and techniques
3) Change Management
Establish standards and guidelines for Change Management process and techniques
Define and implement Standard Operating Procedures related to Change Management
4) Ongoing Education
Learning new skills and enhancing existing ones
5) Enterprise Solutioning
Partner with the business team on complex business problems to scope, define and quantify mobile enterprise solutions.
Work effortlessly across both technical and business discussions areas
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field with coursework in technology-related subjects
8-10 years of experience in related areas including 5 years of experience in
developing and implementing infrastructure architectures for large,
multi-national companies.
Previous Mobility Experience
Proven ability to effectively drive change in a highly matrixed and decentralized organizational environment
Prior experience mobiling a large population of field operational workers
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, Presentation Skills, Problem Solving, client-facing and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills - written and oral
ASP.NET, C#, WCF, WPF and the bulk of their work will still be on shared services on windows platform
iPhone, Objective C, Xcode
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Leadership skills such as taking proper responsibility, pursuing solutions to problem, displaying resourcefulness towards accomplishing given task or goals
Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support
