The SoFloPHP Miami User Group held their monthly meeting at the Miami Innovation Center on July 16, 2014. Ranger Technical Resource had the pleasure of sponsoring this event and had several team members in attendance. Adrian Cardenas, one of SoFloPHP’s organizers, spoke about creating a PHAR file, the PHP equivalent of a JAR file. He showed how to use this file with popular PHP apps like Composer, PHPUnit, and others as well as how to use it with the standard applications and libraries. Adrian provided examples of code with the use of SPL.
The event was a great success thanks to Adrian’s great presentation and useful information. At the end he held a Q&A session with attendees. There was some buzz that Phar Files would be a great subject for the annual SunshinePHP event and that Adrian’s demonstration was so clear that anyone could take his material and create their own PHAR.
